Course Objectives:
Establish a systematic approach of progressing through controlled simple to more difficult surgical extractions
Choose an appropriate treatment approach for individual patients
Identify risk factors in oral surgery and help avoid complications and how to treat them when they happen
Identify appropriate surgical instrumentation and use them effectively
Understand how oral anatomy relates to oral surgical procedures
Expand their medical knowledge and apply it to their assessment of patients
Identify the different types of impactions we commonly encounter
Manage surgical removal of wisdom teeth
Manage surgical removal or exposure of other ectopic teeth
Advise their patients appropriately about behavioural management and medical issues surrounding treatment of these cases

Oral Anatomy and Surgical Planning: Essential anatomical landmarks, local anaesthetic techniques
